The president went on the attack after the secretary of states foul-mouthed tirade was reported by the nonprofit media organization.

President Donald Trump has once again questioned why National Public Radio exists after it reported on Secretary of State Mike Pompeos foul-mouthed interview with one of its reporters who asked him about Ukraine.
Trump on Sunday agreed with comments posted on Twitter that labeled the nonprofit media organization a big-government, Democrat Party propaganda operation and asked why it receives government funding.
A very good question! Trump responded.
Trump has repeatedly called to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which contributes to funding for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), National Public Radio (NPR) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
According to NPRs website, fees paid by NPRs member stations make up the largest portion of its revenue. Less than 1% of NPRs annual operating budget is covered by grants from CPB and federal agencies and departments.
Trump pushed his latest attack on NPR after reporter Mary Louise Kelly, who co-hosts the news program All Things Considered, revealed on Friday that Pompeo yelled at her while using the F-word and many others after she questioned him about the war-torn country in an interview that she was asked not to audio-record.

Should we be encouraging others to not vote at all---you said "guess you'll be staying home"? Just curious...

(787 posts)It's as if you can't read the sarcasm in both posts. Lighten up, take a break if you need to, too many things have gone to shit recently to be so uptight.
Damn, just replying to you is making me want to take a break from the news. Too serious around here.

(905 posts)It's as if you can't read the sarcasm in my defense of the first poster being picked on.
As the second poster admitted, they had accused someone of being a person who isn't going to vote at all (assigning ulterior motive) when, per their own decidedly serious and nonsarcastic response, what they actually meant to say was that...
...they were really, really mad that the first poster had dared to indicate that HE/SHE IS GOING TO VOTE---IN THE PRIMARY...just NOT for a certain person "whose name shall not be spoken" except in the most sycophantic terms.
And yes, that too was sarcasm on my part...so I'm sure no one is going to be "uptight" (your description) about said sarcasm because, as you say, you think others should "lighten up" in the face of sarcasm. So, thanks for defending me! My thoughts exactly!

(17,931 posts)There are no good Republicans anymore. None. Zero. What few reasonable, decent, patriotic Republicans that remained were finally banished in 2016. All that's left are the dregs. A collection of hacks, hicks, religo-nuts and sociopaths. And no.....you can't work these people, unless you're cooking up some kind of "drug deal" as Bolton would put it. They're hopelessly lost.

(102,292 posts)Twitter critics called BS after the secretary of state indicated Mary Louise Kelly misidentified Bangladesh as Ukraine in the presidents map challenge.
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/mike-pompeo-mary-louise-kelly-bangladesh-ukraine_n_5e2cc63ec5b6779e9c33f29a
The Washington Post blasted Pompeos tale as a blatant gaslighting attempt.
There is absolutely no way Kelly mistook Bangladesh for Ukraine, the Post declared. To mention just a couple of issues, the countries are on different continents, and Bangladesh clearly doesnt share a border with Russia, so it would be difficult to engage in a border war with that nation, something a journalist would know.
In addition, Kelly is a former national security reporter who has traveled extensively abroad and has a masters degree in European studies from prestigious Cambridge University. The mere fact that Pompeo challenged Kelly to begin with suggests he didnt know who he was dealing with, the Post wrote.
Former White House ethics chief Walter Shaub blasted Pompeos statement as possibly the most breathtakingly childish ever issued by a secretary of state in over two centuries.

I used to make regular contributions to WPR (Wisconsin Public Radio) until they folded to the pressure and started having two guests to discuss issues one on the left and one on the right spewing GOP talking point.
Daily talking points that were crammed down our throats on national news, RW radio, even RW consolidate home town newspapers. I stop sending money. They were no longer an alternative news source. They became RW lite radio.
Sorry but that is the way I saw it then and now.

So that 43% of republicans would approve a democrat shutting down Fox news?

The reporter is simply doing her job and for pompeo and rump to attack her for reporting on the truth, it reveals a lot about the character of both these two scumbags.

that he is crook, and that he is a mentally ill con man but they don'e care and are using him to pack the courts
and rig our elections.
