Pompeo says NPR host 'lied' and mistook Bangladesh for Ukraine but doesn't dispute he cursed at her

WASHINGTON – Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday accused an NPR reporter of lying about whether she had agreed to keep a remarkable post-interview conversation off the record.

In an unusual statement, Pompeo shot back at NPR host Mary Louise Kelly after she reported that he grew irritated at her questions about Ukraine and shouted at her in an expletive-laced exchange when the interview was over.

Pompeo said Kelly had agreed that conversation was off-the-record; she said no State Department officials made that stipulation and she would not have agreed to it. Pompeo also suggested, but did not directly state, that Kelly could not point out Ukraine on a map, contrary to her account of the conversation.

Pompeo did not dispute Kelly's most explosive allegation: that he shouted and swore at her and suggested Americans don't care about Ukraine.

By their actions you shall know them. Not sure if that's exact, but anyone can "claim" to be a Christian, it doesn't mean they really are. Anyone like Pompeo, or all the others who "claim" to be Christians and support trump are full of crap and their actions prove that.

Most of them are the "rapture" believers who want the end to come, "Armageddon", so they can be raptured up, and the returned to earth after all the "bad" people, who don't believe as they do, are exterminated. They then will come back and rebuild and rule the planet. Others like Jehovahs Witnesses believe in a war the will kill off all the non JW's and then they, the JW, will rebuild the world and rule over it.

I am sure there are other religions that have similar beliefs where their group will be the new rulers and the non believers will perish, some how!

If you read the entire story, the NPR reporter politely and professionally points out that when Pompeo shouts the question to her about Americans' concern for Ukraine, he "uses the 'f' word in that sentence."

In other words, see restructured quote above...

... he was careful not to say that she didn't. He said something about Bangladesh not being Ukraine. Didn't say she pointed to Bangladesh. He lies, but he also knows how to say something without technically lying.

and got a masters in European Studies from Cambridge. Plus, look some of her reporting assignments and you would know that there is no way this woman mistook Bangladesh for Ukraine.

Pompeo is desperate and despicable, just like his boss.

he wants you to know that he's lying.

There's not a chance in hell that Mary Louise Kelly pointed to Bangladesh. Zero chance. Everyone knows it. It's completely beyond comprehension that this despicable piece of garbage is running the US State Department.

This particular reporter knows where Ukraine is. But reporter is going to think it's in Southern Asia!

Some reporters might point to Belarus or Georgia, or some other former Soviet bloc country, but not Bangladesh for christ's sake. Such nonsense!
