Another reason Trump is an idiot

One small part of the Ukraine scandal illustrates another of Trump's many failings. In order to execute his plan to coerce the Ukrainian president into announcing an investigation into the Bidens, Trump realized that Ambassador Yovanovich was a problem. As soon as someone suggested that she was a hold-over from the Obama administration, she was toast.

What Trump is incapable of understanding is that the great majority of civil servants in the U.S. State Department perform their government jobs without political bias. Their functions and hard work are necessary to continue to exert American interests around the world. Their ability to advance our cultural, political, financial, military and social programs require long-term experience, contacts and relationships. Their day-to-day onsite experiences inform their observations providing context to their reports to the State Department and the president.

Trump cannot possibly understand these important nuances. Every relationship he has ever had, (except, perhaps, those with his three eldest children), is transactional. When he's through with someone, they're out of his orbit permanently.

That's not the way that international relations and diplomacy work. Trump can't understand that, either.

In just three years, Trump and his enablers/handlers have dismantled and damaged decades of international relationships. He has made the world a much more dangerous place. The Doomsday Clock has been moved up to 100 seconds to midnight:

It's distressing, disappointing and dismaying to see how our country has turned in such a radical direction in such a short time. Most disturbing to me is that Trump and his supporters are a minority of the United States and yet they've seized control over almost all of our Federal system.

We're in the most dangerous time in our history since the Civil War.

When Trump is faced with a decision, he's usually given two choices: A) a good thing OR B) a bad thing.

He always chooses C) the worst thing.

He needs obedience to him and him alone.

He has to get rid of anyone who might act on principle or a sense of fairness or duty.

It's all one big purge.

The problem for us-- if the U.S. survives Trump-- will be trying to rebuild our diplomatic corps. That's a project that takes decades.

Therefore he thinks he should have 100% loyalty throughout the bureaucracy in order to best sell the GOP "product"....

That is just how narrow his understanding of government is, and the key GOP influencers of his admin love it. It allows them to manipulate him to do the bidding of corporations and the ultra-wealthy. It's just what the GOP has been dreaming of for decades.

Unless our economy collapses into anther Great Depression, perhaps it's not the worst time physically for the nation, but I believe we're the most fragile politically ever.

It's increasingly becoming a global problem as well. The ultra-wealthy are simply buying control of our entire existence using money they got from us.

Thanks for the good OP, PJMcK........

Trump has no idea how to be a CEO. A real Chief Operating Officer has to have a deep understanding of the many facets of a company and its business. Trump doesn't know shit. About anything.

His knowledge of our government is even more ignorant.

He's an idiot.

In any event, have a good week, KY!
