It just confirms what an idiot Romney is and what a lousy convention he had

Someone's paying me to be gay. So someone paying Clint to be senile, I can see it. It's something he would want to be remembered by.

He doesn't need the money, so I doubt he was bribed. I agree, it's stupid.

A lot could be said about an old man talking to an empty chair being their best speech, but why in the hell would the democrats have anything to do with it?

I'm glad they think we are that good! LOL

I think it is entirely possible that was Clint's way of telling Romney to go F himself after the way they treated him. He also called Romney a quote on quote stellar businessman. But, it could be that it was an unintentional gift and he was just that bad. But, after listening to the speech a couple of times I am leaning Clint was telling Romney and the RNC to go f themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if Eastwood had left the GOP quietly then saw a chance to leave with a bang.

There was speculation here at DU that he was punking them somehow, but you're saying that now they are claiming that?

Speculating on his motives is dicey enough, but to claim the Democrats paid him to do that is way, way out there.

But like others have said: If true, it was money well spent.

i don't think that's a bad assumption, at all. clint is a pretty socially liberal conservative who happens to think taxes are too high. i'm willing to bet there are alot of fence sitters out there, just like him, who find his being distanced from the GOP leadership a betrayal. it's a win-win for the democrats.

his big finale was to drop his drawers and moon the stadium. So we held back part of the check.
