But I think that after Trump is out of office there will be at least some bipartisan support for amending the Constitution to limit the President's power to issue pardons.

A power given to the President by the Constitution, only an Amendment can make such a change.

Would you have advocated for President Clinton's powers to be limited during his impeachment?

Doubt it would get much support, as sure as shit, a dem Pres will get partisan-impeached sometime in the future.
