(16,616 posts)many Republicans involved in both the investigation, such as Devin Nunes, and as jurors in this trial, like Lindsey Graham, Ron Johnson, Rob Portman, are implicated in the Ukraine scandal itself, or have received incentives from this administration to ignore evidence and acquit the president?

(22,535 posts)Tried to establish an unofficial channel to Putin in the Russian embassy. We know his campaign managers tried to meet with Russians for the purpose of obtaining Hillary dirt....we know AG Barr misled the public when he said Mueller found no conspiracy between Trump and Russia; Mueller said Trump was aware of Putin's help and welcomed it. AG Barr further misled the public when he announced that Mueller was inconclusive about obstruction. In fact, Mueller showed evidence of many instances of obstruction. My question: Since Trump welcomed the assistance of a foreign power in 2016, do you think he is repeating this behavior for 2020, and will an acquittal now, as he got earlier from Barr, encourage Trump to again seek foreign help from foreign powers?
