He's been doing his best to stoke a civil war for years, and he'll really pour it on if he's given unchecked power. He won't take away people's guns with a civil war brewing.

Besides that, there are a hell of a lot of people here who don't vote because they're mostly apathetic about politics. I think they would quickly become interested if they heard that we were leaving the United States and they would no longer receive their disability checks and food stamps.

As long as the political talk remains just talk, the Republicans have a lot of room to do as they please. But if there are significant consequences and overwhelming changes to be dealt with because of all that talk, the stability of GOP positions in a lot of red states becomes less certain. I just wish there was a way to convince all these disinterested people to vote this year. I don't think they will vote unless they think it's a necessity.
