Vindman cannot, personally, issue any statement. For him to do so might violate military regulations and rules regarding respect for the CIC. NOT that the current CIC deserves any respect. He should probably reign in his attorney - just to be safe. I don't want him Courts Marshalled.

He can face a Court Martial under the articles of the UCMJ and I've no doubt that the Mango Menace is already on the phone to the JCS demanding he be charged.

As long as the statements are attributed to his attorney there is nothing Trump can do because the attorney is not subject to the UCMJ. Vindeman would have to personally issue a statement hinself. Also Vindeman does have the right to defend himself from false allegations made by the President or his staff. Vindeman has friends in high places who will look out for him. My fear is that Trump is going to try and purge the military of anyone who doesnt swear absolute allegiance to him. Once you control the military you can do what you want.
