(31,011 posts)That would be Barbara Bush. I thnk she is a mean hateful woman. I really do.
Michelle and Hillary are my favorites, of course.

(62,444 posts)With the one exception you note.
It's striking how many have had substance issues. Betty Ford, Kitty Dukakis, and Cindy McCain.
But, again, given the circumstances, maybe not that surprising.
I mean... Pat Nixon... could you imagine? She's gotta be a saint.

(33,688 posts)Especially after Watergate blew up. I always felt kind of sorry for her and Julie, who seems like a genuinely nice person - hey, she and her husband David endorsed Obama in '08. Her sister always seemed like the perfect Republican ice princess.

(62,444 posts)Bill Clinton would have become the first male presidential spouse.

(62,444 posts)By "potential" for some reason, I was wondering why a lot of other folks weren't on the list, and was just thinking in terms of candidates generally.
I wasn't too impressed with Geraldine Ferraro's husband.

(11,913 posts)I told him he probably be called "former President Clinton". He thought "First Man" had a nice ring to it (he's 12yo).

(50,557 posts)Since Bill Clinton is a retired president...I dunno, 'special envoy' (being a roving diplomatic troubleshooter seems like the perfect role for Bill Clinton) sounds good to me.

(13,992 posts)I give Nancy half-credit. She's been OK on some subjects.
Barbara Bush, on the other hand, is one nasty piece of work. Don't let the grandmotherly image fool you. People who have been around her say she's the Wicked Witch of Any Goddamned Place She Chooses.

(33,688 posts)I don't think Cindy McCain ever wanted to be in the public eye at all. At least that's the impression I always got from her. Queen Ann seems to genuinely enjoy being unkind to "those people." Her snottiness comes naturally and effortlessly and she obviously enjoys lording it over people.

(75,480 posts)people were drowning in Katrina wins, hands down, the most despicable FLOTUS award of all time.

(20,841 posts)after the 1988 election. Pretty much summed up both first ladies.

(20,600 posts)She seemed like an elegant traditional southern woman. And don't know enough about Ann Romney to dislike her, or know enough about many of the others either. I also like Hillary of course and Teresa Kerry seems really cool as well.

(25,415 posts)Worse then any of them. She said pretty horrible things about Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton. Nancy Reagan couldn't stand her. She was ruthless behind the scenes. She looked down on people that were underneath her. Anne Romney seems to be very similar to her.
Cindy McCain seemed to be a decent person, despite her wealth. She saw the dark side of the Bushes. I really have no problem with Laura Bush and her daughters, who all seem to be nice people despite having to hang around that idiot W.
I adore Michelle. I really like Hillary as well, she had to put up with a lot as First Lady from the Repubs constant attacks. Tipper and Teresa Kerry are wonderful women too.

(14,337 posts)I have met and known many "Ann Romney's". I have also known women who were welfare mothers, working poor, on food stamps, living in Section 8 housing, etc.
I will take the those over the Ann's any day.

(776 posts)Though shocking as the title indicates it comes out as no secret at all to the fact that the Reagan presidency was actually controlled by the cosmos astrological forces.
It is believed that the Reagan's while making very important decisions concerning the state and in the White House strongly relied on astrology as a savior. Joan Quigley who was the planner of almost all presidential travel, press conferences, including the Reagan cancer surgery was an astrologer and based the surgery on astrology. It is believed that one signing of a treaty between the U.S and the Soviet to eliminate the medium-range nuclear missiles was signed on astrological advice from Quigley: the treaty was signed on December 8, 1987 at 1.30 p.m.
When Reagan was a Governor of California, he signed a legislation that allowed licensed astrologers to practice their trade and removed them from the category of being fortune tellers. In this case there is one astrologer who became very famous just because of predicting the assassination of President Kennedy and of which was once an astrological advisor to the Reagan's too; was known as Jeane Dixon. By predicting that Reagan would become Governor of California in 1962 and later the President of The U.S, Dixon gained Reagan's favor but of which was later dropped by Nancy when she predicted that the husband Reagan would not win the presidential elections in 1976 of which was correct.

Psychics picked the VP for them & were deeply involved for years....
Reminds me of "Stranger in a Strange Land".
Barbra Bush seems the meanest from reports from hired help in Maine, but wait till ex rMoney employees start blabbing.
