I do agree with him strongly that a lot of the problems we have are related to being disconnected from the natural world.

He held back from being too graphic about the ugly truth of factory farming, just using the example of a newborn calf being taken away, maybe a bit of a parallel to separating families at the border?

But then I was hoping Antonio Banderas would win anyway. Even though I knew he wouldn’t. It was the most accomplished, nuanced, complex, and affecting performance I’d seen in years.

I feel sorry for him since he grew up in that weird cult. "Children of God" or something like that. It was a commune atmosphere and hippie--esque but strange.
