And hell only get worse. Narcissistic leaders such as Trump always do. As weve now seen, his rage leads to retribution and misconduct, which beget more criticism, and more investigation, and even more rage, retribution and misconduct. Over and over again.
So America beware: The state is Trump, and hes very, very angry. We might, indeed, have to do it again.

Emphasis mine
And again and again and again. As many times as it takes. He is an outrage.

(14,627 posts)And, he's married to Kellyanne Conway? It's hard to believe he is so mortified while Kellyanne is so jovial. Unless and until Conway takes action, he can write in opposition all he wants. No one cares at this point. The crook got off and probably will again. Trump sold his soul and the country.

(5,444 posts)that is running anti-Trump ads nationally. He may be a conservative ideologue, but unlike most who just play follow the leader, it appears he despises Trump's perversion of the Republican Party.
and seriously, no kind of kompromat could be worse than being married to Kellyanne Conway

(1,850 posts)I think we should impeach him three more times before the election. I think that's about the right pace.

(24,414 posts)unless he does something really massively egregious, although I'm very concerned about the Barr/DOJ/Guiliani revelation that came out over the weekend. I just doubt that the House, unless they feel strongly about something, are going have the political will to try again, especially with a Republican-controlled Senate that will- in all likelihood- vote down another round of AOIs. While I think that we should have been filing AOIs against him from day 1 for a multitude of things, most impeachment efforts seem to be a one-shot deal and, with an upcoming election in a matter of months- it seems rather unlikely that the House will advance something unless Trump does something so awful that even the Republicans can't ignore/dismiss/vote it down, at which point they'd likely just tell Trump to leave on his own accord, something that he didn't have the decency to afford Vindman. But I can't even imagine how bad it would have to be for the Republicans to do that.
bucolic_frolic
(43,190 posts)That much is a given at this point. I think we're basically waiting for infirmities.
Proud Liberal Dem
(24,414 posts)But, short of the upcoming election, the only way Trump is leaving is if a massive number of Republicans in the House and Senate turn against him, which has such an extremely low probability of actually happening that I'm not even sure it's worth mentioning.

(6,537 posts)I'm guessing Trump told Barr to get ready for arrests, and Barr told Graham. And Graham, all giddy with excitement, told the media. My fear is, he will charge everyone with Treason under the Patriot act.
We can't sit here because we don't want to go through it again. Like it or not, a second impeachment with more charges and evidence might sway some Repubs. At the very least, it will keep Trump busy while we get business done.
Proud Liberal Dem
(24,414 posts)Realistically, it probably won't happen again unless he wins re-election and continues on his present destructive course. At this point, it's important to keep the investigations going on him and his minions and see if anything particularly nasty bubbles to the surface as potentially impeachable, but, with as cautious as Pelosi and other top Dems were about even doing one Impeachment, I can't see them rushing to do another one that would be more or less doomed to failure. Plus, another trial could put one of the nominees out of commission at an even worse time- i.e. trying to win the GE.

(6,189 posts).... weapon! My God, there is no telling how far this maniac would go. I'm not sure the repugs would see that as impeachable as long as the money keeps flowing to their coffers and he continues to stack the federal benches. What's a loose nuc or two that not to bigly.
Proud Liberal Dem
(24,414 posts)If somebody comes out and says he's actually planning to do something like that, then, maybe we'd have that cause to take some action.

(86,650 posts)Just tonight he was chanting the LHU thing for Speaker of the House!!! WTF?!
And Looselips Lindsey was letting slip that some of the House member will be going to jail? On teevee?
He needs to be impeached again because he at least is under a little constraint... maybe not a second time because they WANT a civil war and have expressed as much in the past.

except for candles burning at the points of a pentagram that surrounded the desk, wearing red makeup and devil horns, and proceeded to drill a hole into a screaming live infants skull, shoving a straw into the hole, sucking it's brains out, and laughing maniacally while dribbling blood from his mouth and emoting in a deep, satanic voice ... "My Names Donald Trump, and I Approve this Message!', then threw the corpse against the wall, smiled broadly and gave the thumbs up ...
Then MOST of the magats would decide they don't much care for him anymore ... if the baby was white.
If the child were black or hispanic ... he'd only lose like 50% of his support. The other 50% remaining would argue that the infant was likely on some sort of ASSISTANCE, maybe even ILLEGAL!!!1!
Since you said you couldn't imagine what it would take ... I thought I'd help out ...

(10,749 posts)I had a friend a few years ago. She was a RWer. But she was a friend, and we didn't talk politics. And that was okay(ish). And we weren't partners, so we didn't have to confront each other with our political viewpoints daily.
How does Conway do it? Go home every night to his wife. I don't about all of you, but she disgusts me.
I think he's sincere in his opinions. But with this op-ed I almost think he's trolling. I mean, I agree with him, but is it the right thing to do politically? Pelosi has already made the point. And the Senate won't change, and Trump could kill people (plural) on TV and they would still love him. Probably even more. So what does impeaching repeatedly achieve? That said, I do think the House should have tons and tons of hearings. It should start with how his spawn are making money off of their association with him and the WH. Followed by other subpoenas, refusal of which should result in jail.
