Frank Figliuzzi on MSNBC just now is predicting Trump will pardon Flynn

to "offset" the optics of walking Colonel Vindman out of the WH last week.

He said many veterans and/or military people were deeply upset by the Vindman firing and that this might counterbalance that.

Strange logic, but he's proposing "a general freed for a colonel fired."

By this logic, it would probably happen fairly soon.

IMO Trump would be severely underestimating the moral intelligence of folks in the military.

Hi sentencing keeps getting postponed. I'm guessing Flynn's lawyers know a pardon is in the wings.

has the stage, he considers it his show and he writes the script to the reality TV debacle we are watching.

Let's cancel that show because another season is going to be a never-ending cliffhanger and will destroy the audience.

Not only is trump dicey, but he may hoard the power, for various reasons.

On the contrary, the optics would look worst for him. He already intervened to protect a corrupt Navy seal.
Flynn pled guilty to a felony and is now trying to walk it back. Trump pardoning a General who is a felon because said General lied to protect him, while firing a Colonel who testified truthfully against him, is self-serving and nothing else. Quid-pro-quo.

By not fully cooperating Flynn hoped for pardon but only after withdrawing his guilty plea so pardon would happen before conviction by trial so Flynn won't have felony on his record. Doubt Judge Sullivan will allow Flynn to withdraw guilty plea and Flynn still makes a convenient scapegoat for Trump and lets him be able to continue to trashtalk FBI over Flynn's unfair treatment and keep Flynn quiet hoping for pardon.

DOJ recent maneuvers seem to be helping strengthen Judge Sullivan's case to deny Flynn from withdrawing plea deal and sentence Flynn rather than allowing him a do-over requiring a trial and opening up pardon opportunity before conviction.

VINDMAN a crook and FLYNN isn't. This is a twist on the "equalizing" both-sides gimmick.

Pardoning FLYNN would be another stunt he wants to do to outrage us. Bag of daily stunts.
