Three Prosecutors Resign Over Roger Stone Case

"SNIP.....

In a possible sign of fallout over the Justice Department’s decision to downgrade a sentencing memo for Roger Stone, top Mueller prosecutor Aaron Zelinsky filed a notice withdrawing from the case this afternoon.

The filing notes that Zelinsky has resigned as a special assistant U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C.

Meanwhile, MSNBC reports another Roger Stone prosecutor — Jonathan Kravis — “has resigned as an Assistant United States Attorney and therefore no longer represents the government in this case.”

And Vox reports that Adam Jed becomes the third Stone prosecutor to withdraw.

.....SNIP"

New filing from Justice Dept to judge says they'll leave it up to the judge.

Quote from Trump "I stay out of things like you wouldn't believe"

Now it is all four prosecutors have withdrawn from the case. CNN

This charade is so trump. Get everyone upset and two days from now pardon him. It would not surprise me one bit if he does this.

we're going to drive around that exact same circle again and come out right back where we started....... with the president abusing his office and actually coming out of the process with MORE power because the Senate refuses to do its job.

DOJ stepped in and this is protest, they won't do it. Military should have done that when Trump stepped into the seal situation.

is the the departure was a direct response to the pardon.

And it is probably on record somewhere, but this post leaves it a little vague whether all four resigned fro the DOJ, or merely from this case.

I've been seeing today that two left the Department (and the other two just that case) without distinction between leaving on one's own and being fired. So at least the numbers agree, if not all the details.

It's hard to know for certain what to do.

I'm thinking about trying to filter it out and solely focus on beating him in November, so as not to fall into despair.

Trump is going to try to break our spirit and our resolve. We have to try to ignore it and keep fighting.

Trump was not removed. I do not talk to the Republicans at all so when the conversation started, I was ready to shut it down. Fast. My two bosses. Then I heard they were bothered. I was surprised. These people are truly uninformed. They think they know what they are talking about but not even interested enough to educate themselves. I was explaining that House saying impeachment did not mean Trump was going away. It was all sad, and illuminating.

the House will ask them and Barr what happened - people are saying. Trump already said he did not directly ask barr to interfere by phone. Though he added he had every right to. But he twitted his desire. Now DOJ has backed off and said they don't rec 7 to 9 year sentence for Stone, but they will leave it up to the judge to decide if it should be less. Trump does seem to have a lot of empathy for Stone. More empathy than he has shown the kids at the border.

this guy is just plain demented.

much as i loathe him and his damn politics of hate and division and authoritarian stupidity, i have even more contempt for the sh*theads around him that enable this ongoing crap.

none of them can even bear the thought of simply replacing him with *another republican*.

the whole lot of them have their heads up their collective *sses.
