(63,221 posts)We have been having a pretty mild winter here in Boston so far, but I am sure we are going to get hit sooner or later. My parents are in Florida and they are north and west of you, but they heard that their area was getting hit hard as well. I don't miss those harsh winters, although they could be beautiful - for about an hour.

(206,261 posts)It hadn't been all that bad, but then we really got hit last Friday, ice early then it turned to snow and the driving was awful. There were power outages caused by downed trees - laden with ice and then the snow stuck. I had to take an alternate route home because the main road I take near West Mountain was blocked off. Then it got below zero, so that didn't help.
I was supposed to take my dog to the vet in Saratoga today - just for a inoculation. But I called Tuesday and rescheduled for next week so I wouldn't have to call at the last minute. It's above freezing again and I just hope it stays that way. And yes, it's quite beautiful to see the snow clinging to the trees, unless you're out in it. I'm not a fan of winter.

(63,221 posts)It's just too harsh and too difficult to get around this time of year. It's absolutely beautiful, but only if you don't have to leave the house to go anywhere. I hope things will improve for you weather-wise soon. I know how it can wear on you during the late winter months. Mid-February is when I would usually start losing it and when I would do just about anything to get out of there. Do you have a vacation planned soon?
I am thinking of something in April, but it really hasn't been that bad here, so I don't have cabin fever just yet. It's kind of cozy and chilly, but not so brutal as to be limiting one's activity. Stay warm and safe Rhiannon!

(206,261 posts)But everyone has to go places. I think it was Monday when there was such thick fog that it was tough to see very far. It's not unusual up where I live near the watershed, but this was all over, even tough to see all the way to South Glen Falls. I wouldn't mind going out so much if it wasn't for all the other traffic!

(2,042 posts)Thats a testament to how much I cant stand Van who is so inane it makes me tired. Geraldo is a fuckstick too. A relic.

(2,042 posts)Who I find to be so banal/inane. Deeply into the both sides and why cant we all be nice to each other simpleton narrative. I guess at least Bannon irritates me enough to at least stimulate some kind of reaction.
