RWers complain endlessy about "political correctness" which, if you look at it is just good manners.

Simple choice.

Applying the word "socialism" to what anyone in the Democratic party (including a certain independent) is a misuse and abuse of the term (including by a...).

I will, on occasion, refer to myself as an "Eisenhower socialist" whenever I think it will highlight how far the terms of political language have been dragged to the right. Once upon a time only ranting cranks and guys muttering in the gin & tonics in country club bars used such an expansive version of "socialist". Fifty-sixty years of conservatives working over the media (and bending to them so as to not appear to have "liberal bias" ) has made the ranting-crank version the current norm.

And it's bullshit.

They're doing the bidding of their corporate masters and have dozens of "think" tanks to dream up and support the bullshit.

It's happening in too many nations around the world.

Socialism is just one of many English words they have abused beyond recognition, with "conservative" being the worst.

The people who are mooching off your paycheck aren't illegal immigrants. They're your bosses! But yeah let's blame immigrants because it's what the big fat guy on the radio told us that's what we should hate.

It’s taxation with representation of the American people. Socialism, capitalism and communism are all simply economic philosophies, not government types. I’ll be honest, to the uninformed, the word socialism is hurting the cause. Most Americans have spent their whole lives being told the evils of socialism and communism and the greatness of capitalism. A lot of these same Americans took nothing else from any history, social studies or civics class. “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”. The word itself hurts. The ideas are as American as they come. Provide for the poor. Heal the sick. Educate the downtrodden. These are basic fundamentals of a society that lasts. Without them, whole countries have failed in a period of a generation.

And our most beloved president.

It's in the form of bailouts for billionaires and subsidies for mega corporations. They get it all and we get nothing.

Frankly, I'm not seeing it, based upon the behavior of the "Conservatives" in power in our country.
