Also.... who is tweeting this shit? Guaranteed Rump could not quote Emerson if you drove bamboo shoots under his fingernails.
The fact that he runs his shit show on twitter, and the citizens of this nation do not even know who is doing the tweeting at any given time, means we are being trolled by the office of the President. How long?
*sorry can't post from Twitter

(1,733 posts)Hannah Arendt wrote of the banality of evil. Trump embodies the comic idiocy of evil -- hilarious, but evil.
Unhappily, he apparently also embodies some supernatural, undying persistence of evil. For his constant fury and hamberders, he should be dead by now.
We should be so lucky.

(11,873 posts)I am tired of being psychologically abused by my "*resident".
Twitter should ban him form posting. We should not allow our "leader" to communicate policy and/or perfidy via tweet.
We deserve to know who is driving this vehicle and it is often NOT Rump.
Where is the outrage that causes citizens too demand action from this social media platform?

(1,733 posts)...by unelected zealots like Stephen Miller and Brad Parscale. It's among the worst, most damaging things this horrifying administration is doing, and it's untroubling to seemingly all of this country's elected Republicans. We can demand that our reps do something, but they've already shown us they won't.

(6,799 posts)Tweets is unreal to me. That this is the form of communication from the leader of our country is boggling. Even more boggling is that we respond. When you strike at the King..... Is the dipshit that delusional? Certainly, this is a joke. Please, a joke, please.

(63,221 posts)Emerson was the anti-Trump. There is nothing to indicate that Trump would have ever gravitated toward Emerson and his philosophy. That sounds like something that Ivanka pulled out of her pseudo-intellectual ass.

(36,865 posts)That quote came from a February 1 news analysis article entitled While Stained in History, Trump Will Emerge From Trial Triumphant and Unshackled, which looked ahead to Trumps then-impending acquittal. Baker wrote:
Ralph Waldo Emerson seemed to foresee the lesson of the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump. When you strike at a king, Emerson famously said, you must kill him.
Mr. Trumps foes struck at him but did not take him down.
With the end of the impeachment trial now in sight and acquittal assured, a triumphant Mr. Trump emerges from the biggest test of his presidency emboldened, ready to claim exoneration and take his case of grievance, persecution and resentment to the campaign trail.
The presidents Democratic adversaries rolled out the biggest constitutional weapon they had and failed to defeat him, or even to force a full trial with witnesses testifying to the allegations against him. Now Mr. Trump, who has said that the Constitution allows me to do whatever I want and pushed so many boundaries that curtailed past presidents, has little reason to fear the legislative branch nor any inclination to reach out in conciliation.

(11,873 posts)Do you really think Rump remembers a literary quote published in the NYT a couple of weeks ago? And even if he did... could put the sentences together and spell it and attribute it correctly?
I doubt he can remember what he had for breakfast. Point is... who IS tweeting under his identity?
