Members of the media have apparently been using fake names to buy official Obama gear and contribute to the Obama campaign inside the Time Warner Cable Arena where the president is due to speak in a few minutes. During our travels around the arena, Politicker spotted a souvenir stand in one of the press stands selling T-shirts and buttons supporting President Barack Obama, Democrats Are Hot bumper stickers and other official Obama merchandise.
The souvenir stand was in a secure area only accessible to those with a media credential and buying campaign gear means contributing to the campaign, so we asked the woman working the cash register whether anyone at the press stand had been making purchases. Her answers were quite surprising.
The woman working at the souvenir stand told us she hadnt been too busy during the day, but had seen business pick up in the past half hour or so. She then asked us whether we wanted to buy anything. When we informed her that our status as a reporter means we dont buy campaign gear, she suggested a strategy other members of the media have apparently used to pick up their Obama swag.
Have you ever thought of making up a fake name? Thats what the other guys do, she said.

Oh, one last thing. Well over a month ago, I signed up at the Obama site so that I could be an "insider". Well, so much for that. I received at least one request for money each day. Initially for a week or so, they were just asking for $3.00. Then a week or so later, it had been bumped up to $5.00. Now, I see it's up to $7.00. I also receive a message a few days ago indicating that all the crap in the Obama store was now 25% off. I sort of think they probably have over-purchased merchandise this year and are sitting on way too much stock. So, it's time to clean house. Finally, I was so sick of my spam folder getting loaded up from them, I unsubscribed from their propaganda messages. Bah!

I did the same thing. Several attempts to "unsubscribe" were unsuccessful. I finally just started replying to each email with "F*** off," after a while, the emails stopped... Hate resorting to crudity and profanity but it's all they seemed to understand.

DiscoHarvey: Tell that to the CIC .... maybe it will work - although they don't understand what 'work' means.

I receive at least 10 per day from Axelrod, Biden, that silly Wasserman person, Barack HIMSELF and a variety of other stooges. I see Convention tonight all I see is UAW and SEUI signs I see no private sector. Barack is in trouble. He must steal election to stay in power. Maybe he calls in Hugo or Fidel to get pointers.
