Do you think we will have martial law a ?

That a friend asked me as his wife him and I had breakfast at diner this morning.

My response was yes either to stay try stay in office and suspend the elections. Obviously to try and duck the SDNY. Or if he is re elected pass the holy water because we will need it. In this scenario I hope we have taken the senate as well.

Due to the "VAST Right wing, Republican, ILLUMINATI" that control the Republican party, the right wing media, and the fascist super rich,... the term "Deep State" has taken on the definition of "VAST Left wing, Democratic, ILLUMINATI" that are buried deep in the government, controlling every political decision made.

Of course it is total projection, they actually DO what they are accusing US of doing.

How do we explain that in reality, the Deep State is really nothing but career government employees who work for decades in jobs, under both Democratic and Republican administrations, allowing a smooth process of governing from administration to administration?

Simple concept, but totally distorted by Breitbart, Alex Jones, and the likes of the druggie, pedophile, SEX tourist, Limpballs, etc.

We have to deconstruct "Deep State".

not only has mcconnell abused his power maniacally, but he's turned the senate into a legislative graveyard and prevented so many laws from even being discussed let alone passed, laws that would improve the quality of life for everyday Americans. And then the trump connection. sigh.

It's not enough to win the WH away from Trump. We need it all. Then it will be generations trying to repair the damage done and resurrecting our democracy.

I don't know about the martial law question. I don't think that it will go well if he does it. I think that might be just the thing to get the people into the streets in vast numbers, which should already be happening.

imminent threat at the time of his bombing . . consequence over 100 American soldiers suffered head injuries, not simple headaches and it took over a week or so to confirm this had happened. Gawd knows what other secrets this administration is keeping and lying about.

Concentration camps for the immigrants. Elite ICE soldiers on their way to sanctuary cities. WH fired majority of America's scientists and cut major funding for CDC and now the world and the USA is facing outbreaks of coronavirus. Anti- Semitism and Anti-POC is on the raise.

DOJ is no longer the people's attorneys. Republican party is now a cult duly in the corner of a monster in the WH. The economy is slowly deteriorating, and so on . . .

America is not the positive leader of the world, and a laughing stock with serious consequences. Pompeo, Kushner are complete idiots. I would not put it pass t-rump to attempt and fabricate a fake emergency for Martial Law.

But alas, I think we can win the WH and keep the House and win the Senate. One thing about USA's - democracy will prevail.

I truly wish more people would understand how our elections are administered by the states, then there wouldn't be this nonsense that the Mango Menace will suspend the elections, nor declare Martial Law.

There are very narrow circumstances for declaring Martial Law, and possibly getting hammered in the election isn't one of them.

We know that Gore won Florida if the protocol had been followed in recounting the votes but the USSC without precedent stopped the recount and handed GWB the POTUS.

So we know the GOP supported by imbedded conservatives in our national institutions are willing and able to overturn major national elections.

I won't predict on martial law but our elections are far from secure at any level and we are on thin ice in uncharted political terrain at present.

There is no limit to his depravity.

Not even saying I agree there would ever be martial law.

But this fuckstain has gotten away with things any other president would have been impeached AND removed for even just 20 years ago.

At least he has the stain of impeachment: but the taint of his "legacy" being tarnished is no consolation in the present time.

If he were an intelligent man, we'd be well and truly fucked. I really think the only thing that will be a stopgap is his sheer stupidity and the stupidity of the lackeys he surrounds himself with.

Still, this isn't an administration that pays attentions to things like "pretext," "institutions," and "decency."

Ex parte Milligan, 71 U.S. (4 Wall.) 2 (1866)

"If, in foreign invasion or civil war, the courts are actually closed, and it is impossible to administer criminal justice according to law, then, on the theatre of active military operations, where war really prevails, there is a necessity to furnish a substitute for the civil authority, thus overthrown, to preserve the safety of the army and society; and as no power is left but the military, it is allowed to govern by martial rule until the laws can have their free course. As necessity creates the rule, so it limits its duration; for, if this government is continued after the courts are reinstated, it is a gross usurpation of power. Martial rule can never exist where the courts are open, and in the proper and unobstructed exercise of their jurisdiction. It is also confined to the locality of actual war."

The Mad King may try, but ultimately the order will be ignored in most States.

Because, after all, it would have to be the National Guard and local law enforcement carrying out the order. Unless there was a true threat, I can see it being viewed as an illegal order.

In addition, we don't have the manpower. I know the movies makes it look easy. The best they could do is stop travel by setting up roadblocks in the rural areas, and that's just gonna piss off cooter's that make up the base.
