Just because the ignoratti came out in Idiocratic droves

doesn’t mean they’re any more powerful or important than they were before. It just means Trump, and Sara Palin before him, knew how to bring them out. When the cacophony of Trump’s megaphone ceases they will quickly backslide into their resentful and ignorant apathy. They’ll do it because that’s their comfort zone. Why? Because they choose to be ignorant. It’s the path of least resistance and Trump is their enabler. They can be angry and righteous and resentful and racist and full of hate without ever having to deal with facts or the truth or any kind of real effort. Trump makes it OK to be liars, cheats, racists and loud and profane. It makes it OK to just be who they are.

But even after decades of intense propaganda from the likes of Limbaugh working his ass off there hasn’t been any real progress in making them into some sort of army of backers. All they’ve managed to do is get them addicted to the rage fixes. That’s Limbaugh’s legacy. Being the opioid fix for the ignoratti. That’s what should be chiseled onto his gravestone. It was a good rage fix while he lasted, but he’ll be quickly forgotten in their pursuit of their next enabler of rage fixes.

Without Trump to whip them up into a chanting frenzy they do nothing, except glom onto his every utterance. He can get them to his rallies, but then what? Though he gets an ego fix from his rallies he has to also keep having rallies to keep them stimulated. Without the fix they get from his rallies there’s nothing much at all between the rallies.

Some have acted out in violence and maybe some will do so when he’s ousted, but there will be no civil war. Because they aren’t true revolutionaries who have a visionary leader with a clear picture of a future they will fight for. Their only ‘visionary’ thing is to lash out in anger at us ‘libtards’, whatever that means, and to overtly show their racism and jingoism. They love and want to see us suffer, but beyond that there are no goals, no future plans, no ideas of a better country. They’re not even overly worried about being bilked and denied healthcare. They’re quite complacent in accepting their second class status.

We need to stop thinking there’s a there there. There isn’t.

People can become addicted to strong emotions. Hate, for example, can consume the hater just like a drug does, and it takes over and has ruined lives because it becomes the reason for every action. Rage is like that, and Trump’s base is addicted to it because they’ve been spoon fed whatever it takes to get the rage going. Limbaugh and Hannity have been whipping it up for decades.

We may be feeling rage too, but it hasn’t been our steady diet for decades. But if we allow it, we will become addicts too.

their rage tinder has been incubating for decades, with regular dousings of Limbaugh & Hannity gasoline
now Trump throws in a match and our country's going up in flames

there's a real problem at work -- we never resolved the issue of the rage tinder and until it's addressed it will always be there, ready to wreck the republic at the incitement of the next charismatic narcissist to come along.

i have no idea how to turn this around or defuse their rage, but i'm pretty sure they're well positioned for whatever happens next.

we've treated the rwnj's like people we could legitimately disagree with and coexist nonetheless, whereas they've been prepping for a shooting war all along.

All we have to do is quit tolerating it and they will stop.

It only takes a few strong words.

Nothing we say will win their hearts but we can tell them to go fuck themselves. And they will. They're good at that.
