They're gonna lie about Coronavirus the same way

They lied about AIDS.

I was THERE as a clinician.

They lied and lied until they couldn’t lie anymore. No point rehashing all the lies. That’s what they did. Period.

You can read my story when I publish my book.

On edit: when I see Dr Fauci on tv my viscera gets all up in a knot.

Remember GRID? Gay Related Immune Disorder? Yeah. Like a virus cares what you do in a bedroom.

They’re lying, lying and gonna lie some more. The advice I’ve read here on DU seems to be sensible. Try to limit contact w large crowds. Wash your hands a lot. Take care of your health the best you can. Get and use anti-bacterial wipes and gel. Get medical supplies that you might take for granted like alcohol, pain relievers etc. Stock up on some extra food, canned goods, water and such. The premise being that we may have to shelter at home for a while and with such uncertainty we can’t yet know what/when will happen here in the US. What other measures could we be taking? And when will your book be published? I’d love to read it.

And yes. You do your best reasonably and just hope for the best. It’s called “best-odds”.

Rides the train, has a dog (feet on dirty streets), so i don't know how he's going to avoid it. 😩
More disadvantages: he's asthmatic, has terrible bouts of bronchitis, but, to top it off, he's a most frustrating, overly optimistic, stubborn cuss! 😬

Any advice? Besides my asking him to come home and telecommute?
I fear I'll just have resign myself to the fact that he's going to be really sick. 😷 😩

Forgive my rattling here, 'cause I am truly worried.

I don't mind bad news except when it involves the following words:

CDC
epidemic
pandemic
no vaccine
unknown vectors
high R-nought
Dr. Fauci
Laurie Garrett
Dr. Messonnier

Time I see her is when one pops up and we aren't ready.

I read her book, The Coming Plague, and loved it.

Will the virus not stop the maga hat rallies since HairFuer is an extreme germaphobe?

And, how 'bout that stock market? (Yep, our retirement funds are in it too. )

I kind of think bare-backing a porn star may make his claims of being germaphobic look a bit . . . like lies.

But then we have Mr germ phobe practically wrestling people with his handshakes. So he doesn't really draw the line at that either. Maybe just handshakes with the little people.

I remember Reagan ignoring AIDS or lying about it. To be fair, he did apologize much, much later but the damage done was incredible.
