Noam Chomsky would agree, and he is a good, basic resource as far as scope and volume of information go. Our obligation as citizens is to be vigilant and informed about our democracy and this is one avenue for performing that duty.

It is up to you to find out and know what you need to in form clear, more accurate and informed opinions. Going the extra mile and doing so is doing a service to democracy, your country and your fellow citizens and that is a form of practical patriotism. Plus, your posts and comments here may reflect a deeper insight into what is going on and help to sort out the chaos and confusion of complexity in today's gestalt.

In a time of increasing information,(data) knowledge, (how to use it) is still power. In fact, personally and collectively, that holds true now and more than ever before. If we yield to our own torpidity in this matter, then sound bites rule the day, so to speak, and manipulation will swiftly lead us by the nose to where we do not, or should not go.
