Factcheck.org

This is a good resource. Read their mission statement under "about us" first. Be sure to utilize more than one source when you check facts. Noam Chomsky would agree, and he is a good, basic resource as far as scope and volume of information go. Our obligation as citizens is to be vigilant and informed about our democracy and this is one avenue for performing that duty.

It is up to you to find out and know what you need to in form clear, more accurate and informed opinions. Going the extra mile and doing so is doing a service to democracy, your country and your fellow citizens and that is a form of practical patriotism. Plus, your posts and comments here may reflect a deeper insight into what is going on and help to sort out the chaos and confusion of complexity in today's gestalt.

In a time of increasing information,(data) knowledge, (how to use it) is still power. In fact, personally and collectively, that holds true now and more than ever before. If we yield to our own torpidity in this matter, then sound bites rule the day, so to speak, and manipulation will swiftly lead us by the nose to where we do not, or should not go.

This is a different form of fact checking, but Professor Chomsky has, for me, been a reliable and remarkable source of information and insight into media, policies, politics, etc. He provides a good basis to work from, even if you want to check his facts or refute them.

Beware and warning: If you are not familiar with Chomksy, (oh, from the good old days, maybe) his information can be penetrating and even seem radical, but by no means is it off the wall, spurious, poorly informed, agenda-driven opinion. He is scholarly and very well read, and you may be a bit overwhelmed and challenged by the kind of information that challenges official narratives and propaganda. I usually am.

So, from my biases to yours, I present:
