Trump to hold news conference as White House is on defensive over coronavirus response

"SNIP......

(CNN)President Donald Trump has returned from India to see his administration on the defensive over his administration's handling of the novel coronavirus, as Cabinet officials are grilled in Congress and Democrats pan the White House's budget request to fight the virus.

Trump has scheduled a 6:30 p.m. ET news conference, following a briefing with top aides.

But while the President and senior administration officials have publicly downplayed the impact of the virus, the White House is also considering additional travel restrictions to address the crisis.

The stock market decline has especially exacerbated Trump's rising concerns over how to stem the outbreak of the coronavirus even though he has publicly declared the virus to be "very much under control in the USA," multiple people tell CNN.

......SNIP"

"Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner is one aide who encouraged Trump to downplay the latest developments, at least publicly, one person says."

6. Healthy people don't need masks because they won't keep the virus away from them.

The masks (the expensive ones, not the cheap paper ones) are most useful for people who are already sick, to keep them from spreading the virus as much. The masks are not a perfect solution at all.

4. Who cares about a press conference. He's going to lie and be all pissy about the press coverage.

There will be nothing gained from this press conference. He is going to use it to go after the media, Democrats, praise himself, and lie about what is actually being done about the outbreak.

I am not sure why anyone would put any stock into covering this bullshit.

8. Ask him if he knows that one of the first indications of infection

is an orange tint to the face. The second indication is an inability to control emotions. And it also causes muscle spasms in the face that make one's lips resemble those of a goldfish.

9. His Main Concern Is The Stock Market.....

He was going to run on the 'economy'. He always equates a good economy is record highs in the stock market.

I heard that he's furious about how the market has reacted and its down slide.

In his mind - whatever he says and what he does in the U.S. this evening - will not give him the ability to reverse the slide. Why? Because what he doesn't understand is that we're in a global market - and the market is reacting mostly to the global situation and supply and demand factors and nothing he does or says - is going to undo the global market factors that Wall Street is taking into account.

Because of his incessant lying - he's like the boy that cried wolf - and people - and I think even his base - will not believe him.

Covid-19 and his handling of this potential pandemic might be the thing that will illuminate his base and cause cracks in its foundation.

Covid-19 might be Trump's undoing.

We know he doesn't care about people dying, only if the dying reflects badly on him. He wants to try telling some lies in an attempt to reverse the bleeding.

12. Limbaugh said 2 things on Coronavirus two days ago:
Wed Feb 26, 2020, 05:57 PM
Feb 2020

1) coronavirus is being used to make the Trump markets look bad - it is really like the common cold.

2) it was started by chinese scientists (because it is unregulated meat markets that always start the bad viruses and GOP want deregulations to be aomething can run on)

I'm guessing he was directed by the WH to say those two things that are not the same conspiracy theory, but two conspiracy theories.
