The only thing I remember about Jack Welsh was when he publicly questioned

President Obama's job numbers

JACK WELCH: Obama Is Manipulating The Jobs Numbers Because His Debate Performance Was Awful
Brett LoGiurato Oct 5, 2012, 7:40 AM
Former GE CEO Jack Welch's reaction to non-farm payrolls adding 114,000 new jobs in September and the unemployment rate falling to 7.8 percent:

Looks like Welch already was predicting this last night:

Jack Welch Obama

The Department of Labor said that unemployment fell 0.3 percent because of a total employment gain of 873,000, the most since 1983. The number of unemployed, meanwhile, fell 456,000 in September.

that after he met a young cute reporter, he left his old wife and married Susie. So predictable in a successful, old millionaire.

Jack Welch's death is unfortunate. Will obits be rounded or perpetuate myth-making?

Welch cut R&D, manipulated SEC & tax reports, left a mess from which GE & shareholders have never recovered. He gave up ~$70m retirement perks only after I exposed their economics in 2012.

G.E. Russert, he of pinning a Shrub W. campaign button inside his lapel while yukking it up with WELCH. And plagiarist BARNICLE got a career resusitated somehow during WELCH's reign. I remember the beginnings of the Morning Scabs show when BARNICLE showed some shame getting e-mails with the word "plagiarist" in them (speaking for a friend). But now he is totally rehabilitated and treated (by Scabs & Mika Mouse) as a venerable and real journalist.

General Electric’s former CEO Jack Welch is one of the great economic royalists of the modern day. He is the guy who said the businessman’s dream is to “have every plant you own on a barge” — so that the plant can move away anytime workers demand better wages, working conditions or environmental standards.

Ronald Reagan developed a vision of America during his GE years. Of course his "vision" was to use government to screw working people so that fat cats could get much fatter without lifting a finger.

Jack Welch was Chairman and CEO of Reagan's old company GE throughout the Reagan administration in the 80s. Being like-minded, I've always assumed he and Reagan traded notes on how to more effectively screw working people to benefit those who least needed the help. I consider it the beginning of today's massive global inequality.
