I admit I went to costco yesterday

And my area doesn't have an outbreak, yet. But I had no reserves on hand in case I get sick and don't want to leave the house, so, I got a few cases of canned veggies and protein, and one of boxed almond milk, and my fav snack bars that I can't buy anywhere else.

But it wasn't more than I usually buy when I go every other month or so.

Canned food was halfway depleted: I've never seen it look like this before. Lines were normal length.

Nobody's cart seemed to be overloaded (more than normal). Everything was in stock. I actually bought a little more than normal because I was by myself on this trip. When I have Wifey Poo and her mother (and Mom's walker), I don't have as much room in the car. So I bought all my "big" stuff.

3. I went a few weeks ago before the virus started ramping up. Got lots of reserves, but

only things in cans or things that could be frozen that I could use even if the epidemic turned out to be nothing.

If I had to go into a quarantine tomorrow, I would be fine. The first case was just recently announced in my state, and I'm in a state that will inevitably have many more cases.

I'm sure there are those who will think I'm an alarmist. I'm not bothered in the least.

but not necessarily areas near Coronavirus cases. On another board I frequent, a guy that works at Sam's is giving updates from the midwest.

7. I plan to go about my life normally, except to be extra conscientious

about hand washing, touching face, and purell.
I’m 73, I’ve had my flu and pneumonia shots, and I’ll add a daily vitamin c to my routine. I don’t take any other medication, but c seems to disrupt colds that come along. Other than that, I’ll keep up my daily 2 mile walks and eat lots of fruits and veggies.
I won’t give up my bottle of wine on wine Wednesday’s and Saturday nights, but I’ll probably forgo the two smokes I have on my wine nights.

Additionally I’ll say my daily prayers, keep far away from the stress of Republicans, and make sure I’m around people who have a healthy sense of humor. Because after all, laughter is the best medicine.

Be well out there, my friends!

8. I was there yesterday, Monday and was shocked.

It was just our normal time to go and no fear of any Coronavirus compelled us to.

Noticed the gas line was unusually long... hmmm

Got gas.

Go inside just 1/2 hr after it opens and were stunned at how many peeps were already there that early since usually the number of shoppers is pretty low, which is, of course, why we go at that time.

Carts everywhere packed full and the biggest sellers were toilet paper, paper towels and water. My female needed toilet paper, only 3 cases of 6 rolls each left ... but OMG, they were completely wiped out of the Kirkland. 1st time ever they said.

A pallet of Charmin was being forklifted to the angrily waiting mob.

Female decides she doesn't need toilet paper THAT bad and she'll just come back in a few days.

She goes over and asks lady what it's all about, comes back and reveals it's all Coronavirus panic. Nice lady comes over to us and whispers to us that we need to score some colloidal silver.

I figure that stuff is more dangerous than any Coronavirus and think I'll pass on that one.

14. We went shopping yesterday too

because we needed a few things, hardware store and grocery were all normal traffic. We do not have any cases here either but we still expected a little more traffic and maybe a few things out of stock. Nope, nothing. I have a store of things in the basement already but they are pretty old and should be replaced but could be used in case of an emergency.

I expected to at least find things like Clorox, Lysol wipes to be depleted, there was an entire area full of all of that and a ton of hand sanitizer. Probably should try to get back out and be certain we have enough of the essentials.

Not for the coronoavirus per se but for any emergency down the road. I'm sure the economy wouldn't mind the extra cash.
