Online schooling

I am seriously considering taking my kid out of public school and enrolling her in a private online school, but I can't get any information online about the process of doing that, how speedily it can be done, etc. Is there anyone here who has any experience with this?

I do not think that the schools in my area are taking the Coronavirus risk seriously.

We're in Virginia. Most of the info is on homeschooling, but I'm looking at online private school.

My daughter's school insisted that she goes to school this week despite the fact that she is still overcoming bronchitis and that I'm currently battling it. If I was able to be tested for COVID-19, I would go, since I have all the symptoms (and not flu symptoms): short fever 2 weeks ago, followed by gradual development of lung issues, and no improvement despite being on bronchitis treatments all week. No confirmed cases in my state, but we all know that is meaningless, since they have not been testing sufficiently. So the school has no way of knowing if I have it, or whether my daughter could be spreading it - or for that matter, picking it up and carrying it home. I'm feeling quite anxious about this.

5. Have you ever had a virus with such symptoms before?

Why would this one bother you more? Especially if you already have it- whatever it is- and you and your daughter are, apparently, surviving.

which places me at high risk. This is likely not Covid, but I know I am considerably weakened, I know kids can carry the virus, and I know my risk is very high. And yes, this has not behaved like previous viruses I've had.

Are they a charter school that gets paid per pupil?

I would keep her out. Maybe you can get a drs note.

and see if she has the option to be a "homebound" student for awhile until all this blows over.

I am a middle school media coordinator one state over from you.
