The best we can hope for is that the Taliban restrain them from shooting our soldiers in the back as they leave.

Our mom would say, “Do I have to come in there?” We almost assured her we had reached a peaceful agreement then went about silently beating the crap out of each other.
Moral of the story: People will SAY what they want you to hear, but DO what they want to do anyone.
They are a terrorist group. What could anyone have said to make them suddenly decide to work out a peace plan?

The mess in Afghanistan is 100% the fault of the war criminal George W. Bush. Just as the mess in Iraq is 100% the fault of the war criminal George W. Bush.

Obama, and now Trump, just played the bad hand that was dealt them.

that Trump - even if he were some sort of genius - could have done to save the situation in Afghanistan. Just as Obama could not have done a single thing.

It really infuriated me when conservative commentators twisted and turned to blame Afghanistan on Obama when he was president. Obama should have surged more...he should have surged less...etc.

And now it’s Trump. All of this, in my opinion, is a distraction from focusing on the war criminal George W. Bush. In a just world Bush would be in a prison cell serving out a life sentence.
