Khamenei accused Irans enemies of exaggerating the threat of coronavirus to scare voters from voting

This is from a story called 'An absolute disaster': Iran struggles as coronavirus spreads

Indeed the suspicion lingers that the government did not reveal the scale of the problem at the outset because it was desperate to boost the turnout in the parliamentary elections.

Khamenei himself accused Iran’s enemies of exaggerating the threat of coronavirus to scare voters away from the polls.

I am so sick and tired of people like Jerry Falwell Jr., Pat Robertson and other disgusting 'men of God' who have used and abused their position to 'interpret' and 'speak' for God to the rest of us.

which is kind of hard to do now, since they are still trying to get a handle on what is the CV is (apparently there are different strains and it is mutating too (on a PBS show I saw recently, and NOT on a rump news conference).

As I remarked to a friend of mine the other day (and he agreed, being a doctor too (in cardiology/heart)), that there seems to be a similarity between China and Iran (the spread of CV being widespread in both countries). I wasn't aware that there was lots of tourism between the two countries/etc. OR perhaps maybe more nefarious things going on here?
