@4everNeverTrump

Hey, remember when the Trump Administration fucked up the quarantine for far fewer people at a military base in the middle of a desert?

That was 10 days ago.

On edit: this is the plan?

A cruise ship hit by the new coronavirus is headed to the port of Oakland, California, authorities said Sunday, though passengers were destined to stay aboard the ship for at least another day.

California's Office of Emergency Services (OES) said a joint state and federal effort will get underway Monday to disembark passengers from the ship in the port of Oakland. Sick passengers will be taken to medical facilities in California, and those who don't require immediate care will be housed in federal facilities "for testing and isolation."

California residents will be brought to facilities within the state, and non-residents will be taken to locations in other states, including a military base in Marietta, Georgia. OES said 1,000 passengers are California residents.

OES said the ship will leave Oakland after all passengers are disembarked, and 1,100 crew members will remain quarantined and receive treatment on the ship off the coast of California.

1. ALL passengers & crew will be quarantined for 14 days

They plan to test all of them, and those who test positive for covid-19 will be isolated for hospitalization.
Those who come up negative will be released after 14 days. This is what I am guessing based on what happened in Japan with another cruise ship.

3. Quarantined where? On the ship?

They did that to the Diamond Princess in Japan and it turned into a nightmare with many more passengers infected than if they disembarked.

On the Grand Princess, they have 3500 people they have to quarantine. Where?

6. Yes probably on the ship, and that can be hell in a small cabin for 14 days

but we in United States are not so crowded like Japan, so it is possible they might move them to a hotel.

So, they'll need facilities for 2400 passengers. That's a lot of people!

17. Yes 2400 is a large number, and they can't be scattered

into many different hotels which will make it difficult to monitor the quarantine.
I am guessing hotel business is slow right now in San Fran, so the authorities could get hold of one large hotel and transfer passengers there. Any people currently in that hotel can be transferred to another hotels nearby, assuming not many hotels are fully occupied.

Can't we just launch a Tomahawk missile from a submarine loaded with a nuclear warhead at the Grand Princess ?

The 3,500 passengers will perish - we won't have to count those infected with the Coronavirus because they will vaporize - that will be the very best out come for trDumpie/dence 2020.

USA, USA, USA.

8. They will be sent to Air Force bases:
Sun Mar 8, 2020, 02:10 PM

The 938 passengers who are California residents will be transferred to Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield or Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego for a mandatory 14-day quarantine and medical monitoring for signs of coronavirus infection, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. HHS did not say whether they will be tested, but federal officials previously had said all passengers on the boat would be tested.

Residents of other states will be sent to Joint Base San Antonio Lackland in Texas or Dobbins Air Force Base in Georgia for their quarantines.

11. I wonder what happens after their quarantine period.

Let’s say someone on that ship is a resident of Colorado and ends up in Georgia for the quarantine period.

I wonder who pays the cost for them to return home afterwards. Betting it’s the passenger and not the US government.

For folks that could barely afford a cruise, this is one of the worst outcomes (other than dying).

I have a coworker that’s going on a cruise soon. I just don’t get why they’d risk it at this point. Not all employers will be happy to hold a job for that long past their vacation time.

they will lose a shit ton of money, and these cruises are paid for way in advance with deposits too. Sounds like they're taking their chances.

19. Keep in mind there are 300+ cruise ships going on cruises every week
Sun Mar 8, 2020, 02:56 PM

I just came back from a cruise in Caribbean a week ago. The ship was nearly full and everyone was having a grand time at the buffet, dozen bars on ship, nightly stage entertainment and adult comedians in smaller lounges. Every venue was pack full. No one was wearing masks. It was just normal cruise! Funny only time I saw anyone wearing a mask was after getting of the ship in port.

They are probably going out of their minds with fear frustration and rage

They will be warned from speaking publicly

And if they do, the loudest will get doxxed by Trumpers as a warning to the rest
