This is how they hide their COVID-19 cases in (rural, red) Benton/Franklin WA health district.

A friend of ours called to report a possible exposure after his airline told him he'd been exposed. But the health dept. wouldn't test him because his fever wasn't high enough.

So their website, which used to say "0 cases under investigation" now says there are no "reported cases of COVID19." Which is true, because the person wasn't tested. But he's still out there in their community, with his cold or flu or whatever.

This is an evolving situation. This article will be updated as more information is available.

No cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Benton or Franklin Counties.

Supposedly, with UW now testing, our testing capacity is way up.

I might understand the need to "triage" when the scandalous DT testing debacle tied the hands of the states, but things should be changing now.

back then saying "no cases under investigation," when, at the very least, they should have followed up with the airline about the notice my friend had gotten.
