about. Their usual tricks will not work. The virus cannot be bullied. It will go where it wants and do what it wants and nothing Trump and his minions say can stop that. There will be more infected and more deaths. The message of it being a hoax and nothing to worry about just is not working. While Trump would love it if businesses followed his lead downplaying the seriousness, the fact is businesses are not going to take that chance. They have more to lose by playing along with Trump and acting like this is not serious.

I work in healthcare and I talk to drug reps for various pharmaceutical companies often. Some have told me that their management has told them to cut back on traveling and visits to clinics. There is an annual conference scheduled for April that I was planning to attend that may get canceled. I asked 2 of the drug reps last week if they are going and they said no. They have been told not to attend by their higher ups. Usually these drug companies are well represented at these conferences. I am guessing that their higher ups understand that they cannot afford to lose much of their work force if people are traveling and end up getting sick. Trump has no control over things like these. Businesses are going to do what is good for their bottom line in the end. Not support Trump's lies.

I don't think he cares about whether his own supporters get sick. He is worried about the stock market and how that affects his chances at re-election. When big businesses are taking action to protect their workers, like I said above, Trump cannot spin his way out of this. All these cancellations of conferences, flights, hotel rooms, and so on will have an effect on the economy. That is all he cares about. So they have to try to look like they are doing something so this does not blow up in their faces for the election.
