Lies and hope

I finished with my school preparations early this weekend and had time to take a Sunday afternoon cruise on Facebook. What an eye-opener! Most of my regular friends are progressive, and it's easy just to notice the pro-Democratic Party stuff. But, almost half of my friends are former students and their families and with some delicious free time, I got to linger on their political stuff. I can now say that almost all of my Facebook friends who express a preference for Romney over Obama do so based on lies that they've been fed by talk radio, Fox, CNN, local papers, or web sites, or word of mouth. Posting factual info in rebuttal seems to have no effect. I mean, did you know that Politifact was a Socialist site?

I know, not news to DU. It just saddens me that facts and reasoned thinking carry so little weight for so many. On the other hand, President Obama seems to be holding his own, even given the onslaught of spin and lies. That gives me hope.

And hopefully all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ thrown away will show, you can't buy the truth.

Every time I see the Romney page I post a comment about the Mitt topic of the day. Read the comments there, quite a few are from the "opposing point of view".
