Actual NYT Headline! "Trump's False Claims About His Response To The Coronavirus"

Well I'll be all go to hell . . . .

EDIT

What Mr. Trump Said

“I don’t take responsibility at all because we were given a set of circumstances and we were given rules, regulations, and specifications from a different time.”

False. The Food and Drug Administration issued a “draft guidance” in 2014 in which it sought to extend its authority to regulate laboratory-developed tests. But it’s wrong to blame that effort for the scattered and insufficient delivery of coronavirus tests as the guidance was not particularly relevant to emergency situations and was never finalized or generally enforced.

EDIT

What Mr. Trump Said

“If you go back to the swine flu, it was nothing like this. They didn’t do testing like this, and actually they lost approximately 14,000 people, and they didn’t do the testing. They started thinking about testing when it was far too late.”

False. This is blatantly wrong. Diagnostic tests for the swine flu were approved and shipped out less than two weeks after the H1N1 virus was identified and a day before the first death in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified the first case of the virus on April 14, 2009. The Obama administration declared swine flu a public health emergency on April 26. The Food and Drug Administration approved a rapid test for the virus two days later. At the time, the C.D.C. had reported 64 cases and zero deaths. The C.D.C. began shipping test kits to public health laboratories on May 1 (at 141 cases and one death) and a second test was approved in July. From May to September 2009, the agency shipped more than 1,000 kits, each one able to test 1,000 specimens.

NYT had an article about this back when some Bush supporters complained about it.

"Donald Trump is a LIAR".

There, fixed it.

I never cease to be amazed at the MSM's reluctance to use that word........

Or the Trump pandemic.

Obama had it under control. He was solid, careful and good at anticipating things. Unfortunately, he was such a good president while at the same time being black.

So, of course, Trump HAD to fire the US Pandemic Response Team, don't you see? He had to! He has had to reverse everything Obama did to placate his white supremacist base.

Lie.

Try that now. It’s okay. You CAN use that word. It works, it’s legit, it fits here, and it’s ACCURATE.

Lie. And Lies. And Lying. And Liar. All those riffs on the main word.

It’s okay to go ahead with that. You’re supposed to be telling the truth in your coverage. This is truth. You’re supposed to be in the truth-telling business.

Don’t couch it or pussyfoot around it or try to tidy it up or use a slightly less - um- angular word. Stop trying to round off the sharp edges.

Use the word LIE. Because that’s the objective truth here.

Hard to believe that he actually believes he can fool anyone outside of his solid base. It is on Video Tape Twitler, you first saying it was a hoax, then saying the cases would go from 15 to zero then just disappear.

He has to be losing all but his solid crazy MAGA hat crazies.

We have to crush him in 2020 anything remotely close and he will cry foul.

Of course even if we indeed hold all three branches after the New Year what to do with his base?
