A Movement to Stop the COVID-19 Pandemic
Our governments are failing at preventing the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and containing the COVID-19 pandemic. Slow reactions, public appeasement policies, and their urge to stabilize the economy are keeping them from taking the measures it takes to protect millions from this disease. It is time for us, as citizens of this earth, to take action now and do our part in fighting COVID-19.
Let's put it bluntly: Stay The Fuck Home!

Idea : Instead of spreading the virus, we spread this hashtag.

(4,999 posts)For a number of cultural and economic reasons I don't think social distancing will hold at current levels more than 30 to 60 days. That buys us time to get testing/more effective treatments so social distancing can be relaxed to maintainable levels.

(115,719 posts)But I also recognize that I am fortunate in that I'm retired and don't have to go to work (the job I retired from would not have been possible to do from home). All of the activities I normally do have been canceled so I don't even have to decide for myself whether to go to them (and I wouldn't have anyhow). I'm not going out to eat any more and I'm doing all my shopping, including grocery shopping, on-line. So I also recognize that staying the fuck at home means a lot of restaurants and other small businesses won't survive, and that those of us who STFH will be dependent on people who do have to go to work, including those employed by USPS, UPS, FedEx and other delivery services as well as the sellers of the products we need.
It's going to suck for everybody, one way or another.

(10,903 posts)Isn't calmly isolating from others the point?
Jamming the grocery stores to buy toilet paper is panic.
