Anthony Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Deborah Birx is the White House coronavirus response coordinator.
Same goes for the Surgeon General.

(51,308 posts)Very disappointed in Fauci.
I actually gave up on him a week or so ago, but a friend convinced me he was staying onboard with tangeranus simply because he could do good where he was.
But no, Im with you now. Ass kissers, both of them.

(51,627 posts)I don't trust any member of tRump's group since they have all been muffled. The surgeon general....forget him.

(5,801 posts)when I heard Fauci say something like they needed to wait to bring the market in, alarm bells went off for me. He's on board with letting testing lag while for-profit private testing ramps up, instead of pushing to use the WHO test earlier. Explains why red don hasn't fired him yet.
Birx I never listened to--she just seemed to be a red don-bot from the get go. Edited to add: I didn't know she was an Obama holdover. But, really, anyone who can endure working for this sh*tshow, after all of the delays and incompetence...I dunno.

Fauci might be one of these folks who works better out of the spotlight, but his creditials are also impeccable.

So right.

(42,759 posts)Sure, he still can't help patting himself on his back, but at least he finally acknowledged that this isn't going away anytime soon and that people need to start treating it as such.

(6,565 posts)I understand that Trump told the Governors to try to get what we need themselves, and that it might have been taken out of context, but it doesn't matter. This is an admission that we are not prepared, OR that he is not going to try. Or, if he tries, he probably can't come up with what we need.
So, I view anything that he says to be rhetoric that is just supposed to make him look good. That's Jared's new responsibility. If Trump acknowledged that it's not going away, it's because Jared is messing with the optics, IMO.
Remember, all news about the virus is now filtered through what's-his-name's wife. I doubt that this has anything to do with telling the truth or convincing Trump about what is serious. Trump is not capable of caring about anyone but himself and his reelection.
As Trump alluded to, we are on our own. I trust my Governor over any Trump team member, including those that stand on the podium with him, nodding their heads. I have been lied to far too many times to believe anything from them.
