Gingrich, who was a sharp critic of Clinton during his presidency, added: "I think what it does is it actually shrinks Obama. I mean, you have a real president and then you have this guy who is a pretender."

Oh, come on Newt.
Seriously??
All of a sudden, you are Bill Clinton's number one fan?
Do you even remember your own history?
You threw hissy fits when you didn't get to sit in the seat on Air Force One that you wanted. You were schooled during the 1995 budget show down. You had your own mom throwing insults against President Clinton and his wife.
You hounded Bill Clinton while he was president. You tried to implicate him in scandal after scandal after scandal with no evidence, and when none of those "scandals" failed to carry any water, you and your folks on your side of the aisle decided to impeach him over a white lie about a private matter in an irrelevant line of questioning in a politically motivated lawsuit.
And you failed at that, too. Someone ended up resigning in disgrace, and it wasn't President Clinton.
What's next, Newt? 10-20 years down the road, during the administration of another Democratic President, will you be singing the praises of President Obama?
Please do us a favor and have your exit back into public irrelevance be as graceful as possible. Thank you.

(9,314 posts)When Newt's work was done and they saw the damage to the party, many felt like Republicans might not ever win another election. And they probably would not have until they figured out in order to win they had to "engineer" the results of the vote.
So how can Newt say anything about President Obama being a "pretender" when he, Newt, could not manage to obtain an opportunity to run against him in this year's Presidential contest, even when competing against the likes of Mitt Romney. Newt can't even pretend he achieved the opportunity to compete in a race in which he could pretend to be qualified to sit in the Oval Office.
So it is not today that Newt is "full of it" -- he always has been. Every day during his speakership was a miserable day. And those days and that feeling are back now in Washington with the fear that once again the Republicans will try to acquire the Oval Office, doing whatever it takes (DWIT as they call it).
