Everyone prepared for Y2K, so damage was minimal. As a result, some say everyone overreacted.

This is kind of the opposite of that, too.

on edit:
But yes, this feels much like the doomsday we avoided.

I was a teenager back then, is it really that big a deal? I always thought it's just going to be an inconvenience because the computer clock wouldn't advance and thus shutting a lot of things down. But it isn't a virus that would kills thousands and thousands of people.

Planes falling from the sky, food shortages, runs on bank, stock market collapse. I dealt with a lot of Y2K issues for clients back in the day.

A major difference, though, is that we had a competent President back then (Bill Clinton).

We have nothing remotely competent, nor have we had for the 11 years that Rs have occupied the White House in this century.

This the Trump Virus, which is virulent in so many different ways.

and somewhat afraid of what we may have overlooked or didn't consider. The coronavirus is more fearful, at least to me, being that you can't really see it, or tell who has it, or anything else about it until it's too late. You just have to be 100% on the lookout for the CV, vs. Y2K, which at the exact second after 1999 ticked off, was over with. We only had a few systems that bounced after Y2K came and went, but they were easily fixed, thank god.

Things are actually locking down here.

And my landlord still wants to put the house on the market on APR 30 and wants me out.

I have no idea how that is happening.

Or what I am going to do.
