in a lot of places the best option is satellite, which is significantly slower than most high-speed broadband.

The 5-10 percent that don’t can be dealt with individually.

Have to use the library computers and internet. And libraries are closed. I can't imagine how it can work... internet is installed in their homes?

In Europe, there are modem sticks like flash drives, but I haven't seen that here.
The danger is that this will set low income kids and schools even farther back, because poverty will interfere even more with their education.
I hope they can reopen schools soon.

This could be a great job for some tech billionaire... Getting every kid s computer with wifi... and making that a gift, not a loan.

A bit of despair here... the department of education could coordinate that, except it's run by Davos, who doesn't really believe kids deserve a free education.

It would benefit everyone in the long run. I wish people (repugs) would understand that.

Which is 3,000,000 students.

What mechanism is in place to deal with three million students individually?

I would have been over the moon talking to one of my teachers like that. Back then it was rare to even know they cared, except for a special few who could not contain the fact that they LOVED what they did.
