The whole country needs to be Shelter in Place except for essential services for at least 30 days,

with rents/mortages, and other living expenses waived until the crisis is under control

A thousand dollars for everybody isn't going to do anything

And checks of $5000 or more at this time would be effective, not a $1000" . That's an insult, and who do they think can live on $1000 a month, trump sure can't. With jobs loss mounting up higher they need to do what works, test, test, test, and have everyone everywhere getting temperature guns for testing that also. Then free protective equipment and supplies for everyone. Until they have the testing available on a larger scale it'll eventually get caught up, then reduced, and it'll be a lot longer then liar trump is admitting, it'll be many months of this before it's over, not weeks, or a hoax like the dumbass president claims it is.

... test first otherwise hunkering down with someone sick wont guarantee that the virus is given to the non sick within 2 weeks or even a month.

So after a month or even 2 months we're just releasing more sick people

if no one is working, landlords cannot expect to put their hands out for rent.

If tenants have to suck it up, so do landlords.

A lot of landlords - like a few of my friends - are semi-retired and live of their rental income. They also pay all the maintenance on the property so it doesn't become a slum. How is that "putting their hands out?"

And if you "waive the rent" that just means the landlords now have no money and a lot of expenses.

BTW, I'm not talking about large apartment complexes run by corporations, they can afford to take the hit.

they need to suck it up like everyone else.

They can't expect to receive money tenants are not getting.

Properties always have expenses - if landlords don't pay the expenses the property eventually becomes uninhabitable. The landlord looses more than a few months rent, they can loose their whole investment.

when you don't get a paycheck?

Some people when they "loose" (sic) more than one paycheck "loose" (sic) their "whole investment" in having shelter.

Portraying all landlords as evil jared kkkushner slumlords isn't reality.

BTW, the kushner landlords of the world are just waiting for small time investors to loose their properties in this crisis so they can swoop in and buy them for pennies.
