there's something particularly hollywood dramatic about mr. "build the wall" being undone by a virus

obviously, the "build a wall" nonsense wasn't designed to handle the current crisis.

still, "build a wall" was supposedly intended to "make america great again" by keeping out bad things.

from the start, critics noted that any "wall" would inherently be porous and fail.

how tragically fitting that the crisis that may well define the donnie presidency would be a virus that knows no borders and against which "building a wall" is an astoundingly useless and inept defense.

obviously, it's we the people who are suffering and will suffer, but i believe as history looks back on donnie's administration, it will put these two things together to illustrate how completely incompetent this administration was.

defining crisis: covid-19
defining proposal: build a wall

i think covid-19 is merely making it finally obvious to more people.

it's one thing to have an inept clown as president when things are generally fine. people will tolerate quite a lot when the stock market is going up, unemployment is relatively low, and things are generally at least ok.

it's another thing to have an inept clown as president when there's a very real crisis. people focus on a president's failings much more.
