In the reddest part of WI a school closes thanks to Walker

http://www.620wtmj.com/news/local/169007236.html

Waukesha County... which I like to call WALKERSHA County is one of the largest counties in the state of Wisconsin. Dane County / Madison is well known for being as liberal as San Francisco, parts of the northeast, etc but Waukesha County which could make Texas blush is rarely mentioned.

It looks like the Walker budget is forcing Brookfield, WI to close one of its elementary schools. These are people who voted for Walker 75% but they didn't want the school to close. They even tried to get a referendum to increase the property tax levy but Act 10 puts constraints on it. Looks like these people are getting the government they deserve. I just feel sorry for the kids (and any teachers that may have been laid off or forced to take an assistant position).

Oh and no offense meant to Texas DUers.

The parents voted and got what they voted for...maybe they should have thought about their children and the adverse effects that came with Walker and the Republicans. But, instead they got a load of garbage and their children will pay for their stupidity!

Want to bet they'll still vote for Walker and the Republicans again...that would be a sucker's bet, wouldn't it?

... Elmbrook Hospital, we planned an addition and some of the neighbors got in a snit because they were afraid the hospital would be bigger than their homes.

More on this school closing, and how Walker's policies prevent the residents from raising their own taxes to keep it open, here...

http://cognidissidence.blogspot.com/2012/09/elmbrook-parents-suffer-voters-remorse.html

Last October, I pointed out that among the widespread damage that would be caused by Scott Walker's budget and policies, the Elmbrook School District was looking at closing one of its most popular schools:

The Elmbrook school board is facing a similar mess. The budget is in such poor shape that they are closing down a popular elementary school. Even when the parents try to save the school by holding a voluntary referendum to increase the tax levy, Walker's manipulations of the law has taken away local control from even the voters and prevent them from saving their school.

Two weeks later, the school board chose to ignore the people and closed down the school after all.

Despite having this come down on them as a direct result of Walker's agenda, the people in that community overwhelmingly voted for Walker during the recall election in June.
