Will this virus push us into a Single payer health care system? Medicare for All becomes a reality.

If the predictions become true, our healthcare system will soon be overwhelmed with desperately ill patients which also means that our health insurance companies will also be overwhelmed with a surge of costs related to care.

Won't this bankrupt the health insurance industry? Won't they need government bailouts? If so, isn't that a form of Single payer? With the payments going through a middle layer?
