I dont know enough about it to have a firm opinion. I assume there are regulations to make such a thing harder these days? Does it make a difference that money is largely moved electronically now?

You can thank Obama, Biden, Warren, Frank, Pelosi and many more Democrats for that.

(37,346 posts)And that was a financial crisis. Besides, many businesses are not accepting cash preferring relatively cleaner debit or credit cards. In the 1930's they didn't have those.
Although CNBC keeps re-running the Bill Ackman rant. Trying to start a bank run.

(7,506 posts)Maybe on her maybe on Kos . Someone posted that person in front of them wanted 8,000 dollars at bank. Was told they'd have to make an appointment to get that from their account. I remember talking to people years ago who still didn't trust banks. because of what they lost in depression.
