of how she has MS? I don't understand. She or her surrogates have done this now many, many times.
Republicans have spent the last 30 years making a cottage industry out of verbally lambasting real victims (of racism, sexism and even assault - i.e., the coffee burn victim), telling them euphemistically to "man up", pick yourself up by your bootstraps and "stop whining!"
It just strikes me as the height of cynicism.

(102,243 posts)when one factors the absence of economic concerns and that she has no problem getting the best health care $$ can buy.
I can't imagine it does not strike many as totally insincere and "me, me! here here".... when she says it. Queen Ann or Marie ANNtoinette... either way, I think she is becoming a liability.

(29,503 posts)She's so accustomed to barking out orders, like Princess Margaret was known to do, that she thinks the expression "break the ice" refers to "shaken, not stirred".

(1,933 posts)the wealthy Kennedy family has gone through a tremendous amount of suffering beyond their control, and yet THEY feel the obligation to ensure that others who are not so lucky financially can have the same opportunities (Civil Rights) and social programs to assist them when they are in need. Especially Ted Kennedy's fight for universal health care. I don't see the same concern from either Romney or his wife for those who may have MS but not the resources to properly treat it.

She has lived a completely sheltered self-centered existence. This is all she has to show any shred of affility with regular people. I'm quite certain she or her mannequin of a husband have never actually tried to help anyone with MS, or we would have never heard the end ot that.

(755 posts)In her world she has MS but doesn't have to work at the same time. She doesn't have to worry about how to pay for health care when her pre condition keeps her from affordable health insurance. She can afford the best treatment, servants, etc. If she's feeling bad for a couple days, her servants can take care of her, put videos of her dancing horse in the dvr while she takes it easy.

Ann was a snob long before he was diagnosed with MS.
Some things don't change.

(13,462 posts)Since she has an illness then she hopes voters will believe that her husband won't really wreck health care reform enough to kill off a bunch of Americans because he will "understand".
Of course he won't, because those Americans being killed off won't be rich. In their world view only the rich "deserve" what most civilized societies consider a basic human right.

Queen Ann knows nothing whatsoever of genuine struggle or suffering.

(23,272 posts)She has had these tremendous re$ource$ at her disposal but hasn't taken one single second to do anything for anyone else (well, presumably except for the mandatory Mormon tithing). How about a therapeutic riding program? Or an MS charitable thing? Create a research center?
Something! Anything!
I presume the campaign believes that talking about Ann's MS makes her more empathetic but for me, it only underscores how selfish she is, how utterly removed she is from the rest of us, and how little she and her husband have given back.
