Scott Brown tries to ride Obama's coattails.

Hitching His Wagon to Obama’s Star: a Republican Senator

By KATHARINE Q. SEELYE

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — President Obama is appearing in yet another television commercial in the Massachusetts Senate race. This time, it was not produced by the Democratic candidate, Elizabeth Warren, but by the Republican, Senator Scott P. Brown.

The advertisement, which was scheduled to start running on Saturday, shows Mr. Obama praising Mr. Brown for sponsoring a bill to end insider trading in Congress. As Mr. Obama signs the measure into law, he thanks Mr. Brown, saying, “Good job.”

With the political conventions over and the Labor Day parades behind them, Mr. Brown and Ms. Warren are entering a new phase of their intensely fought race, the most expensive Senate contest in the country and one of a handful that will determine which party controls the chamber next year. The race is distinctive in another way: in this state, Mr. Obama is so popular that candidates from both parties are trying to hitch their wagons to his star.

The commercial follows weeks of other ads in which various former Democratic officeholders have endorsed Mr. Brown; on Friday, his campaign rolled out a “Democrats for Brown” coalition that includes a state representative, Christopher G. Fallon of Malden, and other officials.

None for E. Warren.

She's not making herself seen and that's very worrisome.

On some issues he is. He is pro choice. But on other issues he is just another nutball Republican.

Elizabeth Warren 'Shocked' At Scott Brown's Support For 'Extreme' Birth Control Policy

Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren (D) tore into her rival Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) for supporting a GOP amendment that would permit any employer to deny coverage of birth control or other services they deem morally objectionable in their health insurance plan.

"I am shocked that Senator Brown jumped in to support such an extreme measure," Warren told The Washington Post's Greg Sargent in an interview. "This is an all new attack on health care. Any insurance company could leave anyone without health care, just when they need it most."

“This is an extreme attack on every one of us,” Warren added. “It opens the door to outright discrimination. It would let insurance companies and corporations cut off pregnant women, overweight guys, older Americans, or anyone — because some executive claims it’s part of his moral code. Maybe that wouldn’t happen, but I don’t want to take the chance.”

Scott Brown's spokesman pushed back in an email to Sargent.

"It’s elitist for Elizabeth Warren to dictate to religious people about what they should believe and how they should act. She wants to use the power of government to force Catholics to violate the teachings of their faith," Brown spokesman Colin Reed emailed. "That is wrong. This issue deals with one of our most fundamental rights as a people — the freedom of religion. Like Ted Kennedy, Scott Brown supports a religious conscience exemption in health care."

He has stated he is pro choice but with extremely limiting options. Basically, he is an asshole pretending to be a moderate to save his seat. I don't know who I dislike more, him or Linda McMahon here in Connecticut. If CT elects her, we will have our own Scott Brown.

7. She's running just as many ads as Scott Brown.

And her ads are much more about policy and specifics than his -- which are a whole lot of "Scott Brown drives his car and does laundry and loves his wife".

Thankfully, both of them have pledged not to accept PAC money and so far they've abided by this pledge.

was saying that everyone was running away from President Obama and they were confident that he didn't have the "coat tails" due to the "Enthusiasm Gap™".

They are giving me whiplash.

This is what Brown has been running day in day out. If we didn't know better, we'd think he's running as a Democrat and/or BFF of every MA resident. Scotty is a guy you want to have a beer with, he brings home the pork...uh..bacon, he's 'for us!!'
