Politicians wont admit it yet, but its time to preparephysically and psychologicallyfor a sudden stop to all life outside your home.Everybody needs routines, including exercise and recreation. Shared burdens of cooking and cleaning should be offset by shared play and fun.
Boredom and stress can suck the lifeblood out of a person. Before your home goes on lockdown, make sure your download accounts for movies and television are paid. There are plenty of good books around the house, and games and decks of cards are handy.
Plan now for your state of siege. Dont delay. Choose where you want to survive the pandemic, with whom, and how. Your window of opportunity to act is shrinking, very fast.

It is also hard to hate on any team that King Carlo is the manager of.
I am going to do the happy dance when the EPL season is voided out and the Scousers do not get their title!!!

I grew up about a mile and a third from Stamford Bridge in South Kensington, so been a Chels girl from 'me in a pram' days. I still fly back (from Stockholm) to go to some games, or at least I DID, until this hellish nightmare virus hit.
Cheers and be safe

(11,797 posts)UEFA has said theyll extend the season. Ill hopefully be over there to watch the last weeks and see the Reds hoist the trophy. My partner is English, but is a West Ham fan, so he too hopes they just end the season.

(58,785 posts)But the rest of us? We have the dreadful adversity of leisure time spent in the comfort of home. All the time we could want to relax with books or go hiking. Walking's fine as long as it's not with people. Or maybe dig up the back yard and finally create that beautiful garden (it's spring! -- great time). Learn a new language, play interactive games with children we can't be with, watch sports, do volunteer work on line, paint the bedroom.
We just got a video from Arkansas. Schools closed, but our littlest grandson is making great progress in forward flips on the trampoline, already up to 8 in a row. So proud!

(2,198 posts)City councils and other agencies are using technology for meetings, grocers are open, restaurants provide take out only.
The only things in short supply are TP and hand sanitizer.
Small businesses are being hurt but if we all comply with social distancing policies and stay home as much as possible, this could pass and not be a catastrophy.
It's the overreactions, panic buying and hoarding that will screw things up.
Stay calm, follow instructions, reach out to friends for support.
It's going to be OK.

(8,929 posts)Took my last trip out today that I should need for a while. It was also my first time out wearing an N95 mask in public, which felt kind of strange. But hey, you do what you have to do.

(25,183 posts)I said to my lady, "So, this is like the classic question: If you were stuck on a desert island, who would you pick to be with you?" Of course, I said it would be her, and she reciprocated.
We've got a full refrigerator (light doesn't go past the top shelf) the freezer is full, and the queen sized bed in the guest room is chock-full of food and a Costco-sized pack of TP. Plenty of maintenance meds, and I just scored a propane grill from a neighbor who is moving. We're retired, and as long as the electric and water are still functioning, we'll be fine. Bonus if the cable and Internet still work throughout this.

Healthcare providers are at ground zero and at risk continuously. Grocery store workers, especially cashiers, are at high risk as well.
First Responders are always at risk. I would imagine that in another few days domestic violence will start to increase. Tensions are only going to rise....
