Once the covid19 is done, cured or passed. Whatever you wanna call it. Will it change the world? Mean will it be different or just as the same? I feel we haven't seen the biggest hit of it yet because of the lack of testing.

(7,637 posts)The fact that covid-19 exposed glaring issues with our healthcare and job regulations will make it easier to get things like mandatory sick leave passed into law and very likely a public option as well.
Likewise, it may even spur people to tackle climate change. The world economies grinding to a halt already are having a measurable impact on air quality. This might help convince people that tackling this challenge is possible and that radical changes can alter the course.

(5,316 posts)...and Trumpfuck is out of office, he needs to be indicted, convicted and imprisoned for the rest of his useless, failed, perverted, degenerate life.
Or possibly even considered for the death penalty, as long as we still have it.

(2,343 posts)Tons not to like the guy over, for sure. But, I'm having a hard time coming up with a serios legal infraction to indict and try him, and gain a conviction. And getting something punishable by death would be at a completely high, high level. And given much of the nation's queasiness wither capital punishment, executing a US president scares the bejeezus out of me. It was suggested the same for GWB at one time, and as evil as he was, I wouldnt have favored.
Even when we executed Sadaam Hussein, an evil, vile, waste of a life, it really bothered me and felt below the dignity of the country.
I thought we had him over Ukraine after our friend Bob Mueller didnt help with stopping just short of hitting him with crimes. If Democrats had something pretty strong, they sure wouldnt have used the Ukraine call, pretty weak sauce if you ask me.
Perhaps life in jail for something. It would be quite satisfying to see is comeuppance. But, killing him would be a shameful day.

How will we learn and and what may we alter in our behavior, economically, politically, socially, as consumers, medically, scientifically, nationally and internationally? Will we change our values, perceptions and perspectives?"

(81,871 posts)I worry about the financial toll. I envision something like Elysium (without the space option) or Ready Player One.

(3,487 posts)easy. And republicans will use people's uncomprehending anger at things that will HAVE to be done to erase unbelievable debts and deficits, and win back their majority, and ruin things all over again.
Count on it.

(15,265 posts)...a huge number of voters will utterly forget how much Republicans had fucked things up, they'll vote them back into control of Congress where they'll block any further progress, and Democrats will likely take the lion's share of the blame for the result.
It's the pattern I've sadly come to expect out of life.

(53,410 posts)When Trump is done and past the world is definitely going to be a better place. Mostly because well have President and government that will care about science, the environment and us.
Yes. Itll be diametrically opposed.

(21,786 posts)I expect that we're probably going to see a sharp decline in international air travel and a lot of other things for the foreseeable future.
