ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- 20/20 BioResponse, a business unit of 20/20 GeneSystems, Inc. announced today that it will begin taking orders for its CoronaCheck COVID-19 Rapid Antibody Test Kit. (The test is intended to identify persons having an immune response against SARS-CoV-2.) The companys action follows discussions with officials from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) this week after the agencys March 16 Guidance issued to expand the number and variety of diagnostic tests as the severity and scope of the current COVID-19 situation around the globe necessitates greater testing capacity than is currently available.
The test kits are rapid chromatographic immunoassays (configured like a home pregnancy test) to detect IgM and IgG antibodies to COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2 in blood, which is the cause of COVID-19. IgM antibody generally begins to rise within 1 week of initial infection. IgG appears about 14 days after infection. According to the March 16 FDA Guidance, antibody blood tests of this nature are less complex than the nucleic acid testing that the CDC and laboratories throughout the U.S. have been running since the start of this emergency.

(52,317 posts)How does he profit from using the WHO tests?
How does he profit by tackling it like South Korea has?
But an American company making the tests? That he can get profit one way or another, at least done big campaign contributions.

(35,356 posts)prevent them before, I think it was, 2/26. And then there were government regulations concerning validating their accuracy.
There have been SARS-CoV-2 virus test kids available online since before then, but there was no reason to have any confidence in them.

(8,926 posts)6 to 14 days after you are showing signs, you have to have the antibodies in your blood to detect the virus, this would better used on corpses to confirm covid was the cause of death

(1,684 posts)I think (I am not sure) that the test results are immediate. When they wrote:
"IgM antibody generally begins to rise within 1 week of initial infection. IgG appears about 14 days after infection..."
I think that is a clue to find out how far back was the initial infection. If IgM appears, but not IgG, then the estimated initial point in time of the infection would be between one and two weeks. If IgG appears, then the estimated initial point in time of the infection would be fourteen days or greater.
Edited to add: I looked at the article. It generates results in under fifteen minutes.
