... or something. I called one of the four stores and they're open. It sounded like he knew about the search glitch. END EDIT

Aren't interesting, inexpensive foods "life sustaining?"
Anyway, there's no announcement on their web site (just a change in hours), but Googling the four stores I know about (Boston area) shows that each is "temporarily closed."
Are your Trader Joe's stores open or closed?
What's the plural of Trader Joe's? Trader Joes'??? No.....

(43,049 posts)Could be local stores decision, or something to do with MA state rules.
All of our grocery stores are open, btw.

(382 posts)My daughter reported that TJs in South Seattle/Burien WA were wiped out of all the basics. Shelves were empty. Sure, if you're after a can of caviar or other exotics, plenty of supply, but fruits, veggies, frozen meals, household supplies, TOILET PAPER...all gone, at least for now. I drove by a TJs yesterday on the way to Silverdale WA Costco and noticed only 2-3 cars in the TJ parking lot, which is usually full...
It seems that hoarding is now amplified by a factor of infinity. Even those of us in remote rural areas who maintain sensible supplies of basics throughout any year are now concerned as supplies are eventually used up, that we may not be able to acquire the basics we need in the months ahead. Hence, MORE hoarding occurs.
I, myself, bought a case of industrial paper towels at Costco, "just in case", because there wasn't a package of consumer paper towels to be had, there or anywhere. You might get lucky if you happened to be in a store or pharmacy at a single moment where stock had been momentary replenished. Logic tells you that the item would certainly be sold out inside of an hour if you did not purchase whatever the store limit happened to be...at just about any cost!
Perhaps stores shut down temporarily if someone at that store tested positive for the virus? Just a thought...
