He has no choice, we're technically still at war with NK.

A North Korean invasion of the south is all but impossible. Even if hordes of troops rushed through unknown tunnels (soldiers rushing over the DMZ would get artiller-ied to smithereens), they would be repelled quickly. The South's technological advantage of its military is too great. The North could score some pyrrhic victories, and certainly kill a lot of people, but to what gain? The world would not stand for it, the US and UN would level the North's military. Their BFF China wouldn't help them this time.

Even the North's ability to "level Seoul" is vastly overstated. Only two types of the North's artillery can even reach Seoul, and only those stationed at the very southern end of North Korean territory., and only the northern areas of Seoul. It could bring death and destruction in the opening volleys, but US and South Korean aircraft would take those out quickly.

Moreover, why would Kim even contemplate it? He's sitting fat and happy. He's a psychopath, but one seemingly aware that such a large-scale attack would bring his downfall.

When Kim was threatening the South, he was called Little Rocket Man. If he attacked the South, he would be turned on in a nano-second. NK has a couple of tiny dirty nukes comparable to 1945. The US has it's nukes in SK, ready for use.

120kt is deadly, no doubt. But it is nearly 10 times smaller than a 1mt. The USSR once did a 50mt nuke. But anyway, let's hope I'm right, we don't need war at a time like this.
