(8,203 posts)According to this model, in my state social distancing still results in >70% infected and hospital overload by mid-April, but only 8% infection rate and no hospital overload with sheltering in place.

(16,846 posts)Sheltering in place seems like the only viable answer, and I suppose we can expect to see more orders come down from state and local governments as we near the point of no return. Some are already past it. I have to leave home a few times a week for medical reasons, but other than that, I'm always at home. I sure don't want to be in the hospital when that curve reaches its peak. That would be an ugly situation.
